Eternal Purpose

Psalm 122:1 says, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord.'” Welcome to our service today and thank you for spending time together with us in adoration and worship acknowledging Jesus as the giver of life.
Ephesians 3:11 shares the words “according to the eternal purpose”. God’s ways are not our ways. His ways are always about the forever. Revelations 1:18 says, “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. There is no death in heaven. There is no end to Christ kingdom, Luke 1:33. God is forever.
Everything that God does is about the forever. His goal is for everyone on earth to experience a forever relationship with Him. We know this because of John 3:16 For God so loved the world (that is you and I) that He gave His only begotten Son (that is Jesus) that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (everlasting life is the forever). I am so very grateful to God and His son Jesus that they have an eternal purpose of wanting His creation to have a forever relationship with them.
Romans 15:10-12 – And again he says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!” And again: “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!” And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.” When we praise the Lord Jesus an awakening happens in our heart. It is an awakening of the eternal purpose. In that awakening of His eternal purpose there is joy. As Christians we have come to know that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Through praising the Lord Jesus by believing and confessing that He is the resurrected Son of the Living God and living a life that implements the fruit of the Holy Spirit which is “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
(Galatians 5:22-23) Why is there no law for the traits of the Spirit of God because they are eternal and have eternal purpose. God’s love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control are all eternal. Each trait, if carried out in your life will lead your life to live in God’s eternal purpose.
This week when you’re facing a struggle, praise the Lord for His eternal purpose. This week when the struggle comes, choose to allow the traits of the Holy Spirit to carryout the eternal purpose of God. Be a living testimony for Jesus. He came so God’s eternal purpose could be fulfilled in all our lives. All we need to do is to choose the endless treasures available to us through Jesus Christ the Lord of glory.
